Product Line Manager

Summary:      This position is responsible for leading and developing people, processes and systems that ensure the highest safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency standards are achieved by applying Lean Manufacturing principles and tools. Seeking a motivated individual who is a leader and able to deliver results in a manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide overall direction to a highly skilled workforce, leading employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts guided by business objectives.
  2. Develop, train and involve employees in maintaining and improving safety, efficiency, productivity, quality, cooperation and morale.
  3. Model workplace expectations and coach employees to meet the same level of expectations in a respectful manner.
  4. Applies Lean Manufacturing principles and tools to achieve sustainable improvements in safety, quality, production and cost reduction.
  5. Drive innovation and manage change by communicating key business initiatives and by involving, engaging and motivating employees.
  6. Review customer demand and production schedules to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints. Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
  7. Maintains positive employee relations, addressing and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  8. Continuously seeks to improve organizational effectiveness through the assessment, selection and development of talent.
  9. Prepare and maintain production reports, capacity plans, and performance metrics.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Business or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of operations experience as a shop supervisor or cell leader

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clear, concise and effective communicator
  • Experience working with all levels of management
  • Highly self-directed and results driven
  • Computer proficiency in Excel a plus

Planner

Summary: To schedule manufacturing activities to provide the highest level of customer service while minimizing work in process and finished goods inventories by performing the following duties.

2. Reviews work schedules to effectively maintain the manufacturing schedule.

8. Informs management of production statistics, and recommends forecasts for future production.

9. Communicates with pertinent personnel to insure all production schedules and requirements are adhered to and customer requests are met.

10. Generates and reviews daily inventory reports to monitor inventory levels.

11. Performs timely follow ups of all phases of purchasing and related projects.

12. Provides information regarding product availability to promote sales and profit goals.

13. Create and maintain production timelines as required for customer communication.

Operations Manager

Summary:  To coordinate the production and assembly of products within acceptable quality standards at the lowest possible cost by performing the following duties.

1. Directs and coordinates department activities.

2. Applies knowledge of production methods and procedures, capabilities of machines and equipment and product technology.

3. Establishes production and quality control standards.

6. Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.

8. Consults with engineering personnel regarding modifications of work orders and prints.

9. Recruits engineering assistance in problem solving regarding manufacturing design of tools and/or methods to improve production and quality of products.

10. Ensures equipment operation and production meets quality control standards by monitoring throughout the shift, and takes corrective action immediately as needed

11. Assists Quality Control with the determination of quality control issues and remains accountable for results

12. Responds to building or employee incidents or accidents promptly and appropriately, and reports to management as the situation warrants.

13. Functions as backup for any and all positions under supervision during scheduled work breaks or as required.

14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Lean Leader

Summary: Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives within the company.

  6. Work with process-owners to make data available for process improvements
  7. Coach and mentor Project Leaders to complete projects by identifying and eliminating barriers
  8. Model advanced problem-solving and LEAN Leader behavior and propagate that behavior at the local site level
  9. Design, develop, and deliver site-appropriate LEAN Six Sigma training
  10. Network and collaborate with other CI Leaders/Managers/Directors to share best practices
  11. Act as liaison with external training coaches to facilitate events planned with such resources
  12. Assist with Operations leadership when required
  13. Prepare all plant layouts for department moves or new equipment installations
  14. Act as project manager for building upgrades, and associated contractor work relative to equipment changes and facility layouts

Human Resources Manager

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for an HR Manager who is business minded, self motivated, and has exceptional people skills. You will be responsible for the administration and performance of the Human Resources operations. This includes performance management, training and development, staffing and recruiting, legal compliance, compensation administrations, benefits administration, employee relations, and safety and health. This position overseas a workforce of 125 professional and manufacturing associates.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This position reports to the President and supports the overall strategic goals of the company.  Working closely with managers and supervisors to create a performance driven culture supported by robust HR programs.

  • Performance Management – Assure the annual employee job performance assessments are conducted. This includes the annual goal setting process, the annual assessment process and periodic feedback sessions that strive to raise the performance bar in the organization.
  • Training and Development – Ensure that the organization meets or exceeds training objectives to ensure competent level of individual and operational performance.
  • Staffing and Recruiting –Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
  • Legal Compliance – Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Compensation – Administer compensation programs to assure competitive total reward practices, aligned with corporate strategies, and fair pay practices.
  • Benefits – Administer benefit enrollment process and assist employees with claim processing issues.
  • Employee Relations – Develop systems and programs that promote positive employee relations and employee engagement.
  • Safety and Health – Ensure local programs are established to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for associates. Oversees the administration of workers’ compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time.
  • HRIS/Payroll – Responsible for maintaining HRIS data and processing weekly payroll.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of HR experience with 2+ years in an HR Manager role preferred. Manufacturing or industrial experience desired.
  • Professional certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP or other HR Certificate program is highly preferred.
